About The Event
November is Transgender awareness month and St. Bartholomew Church (Mayfield Village) is hosting an affirming Saturday Session on biblical figures and themes that reflect the unique experiences of transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming communities. This free workshop will be presented on November 5th at 10:00 am by Russ Tripi, a professor of Queer Theology at John Carroll University. All are welcome.

This event is part of a free workshop series entitled "Saturday Sessions." On Saturday mornings, join Russ with his energetic, fast-paced, theatrical, and (sometimes) comedic style as he engages the audience in some aspects of religious studies.
Russ Tripi is currently the Director of Religious Education at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church and an adjunct lecturer at John Carroll University where he teaches a course on the "Theologies of Sex, Gender, and Identity." He possesses a BA and MA in Theology & Religious Studies from John Carroll University and has over twenty years of professional experience teaching at the high school and college levels. He has published and contributed to countless curricula all over the United States and continues to host a popular YouTube channel for the purpose of making theology fun and accessible to the 21st-century learner.
