About The Event

Through the use of history, narrative, theology, and modern biblical scholarship, Russ Tripi will deconstruct the biblical passages that have often been used to combat gay and lesbian people.  

Russ is an adjunct lecturer at John Carroll University where he teaches a course on the "Theologies of Gender and Identity."

Due to sensitive topics, it is recommended that participants be at least 14 years old to attend this workshop.

This event is part of a free workshop series entitled "Saturday Sessions."  On Saturday mornings, join Russ with his energetic, fast-paced, and often comedic style as he engages the audience in some aspect of religious studies.

Russ Tripi is currently the Director of Religious Education at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church.  He possesses a BA and MA in Theology & Religious Studies from John Carroll University and has over twenty years of professional experience teaching at the high school and college levels. He has published and contributed to countless curricula all over the United States and continues to host a popular YouTube channel for the purpose of making theology fun and accessible to the 21st-century learner.
